Membership
Per Connecticut Statute 16-331i, the membership is made up of one representative from each of the existing cable tv advisory councils representing customers in each of the state's cable tv franchise regions. No member of the State-wide Video Advisory Council (SVAC) shall be an employee of a community antenna television company or a certified competitive video service provider. An employee includes any person working full time or part time or performing any subcontracting or consulting services for a community antenna television company or a certified competitive video service provider. Members of the State-wide Video Advisory Council shall serve without compensation. Compensation shall include the receipt of any free or discounted video service.
Meeting Attendance
Per PURA Regulation 16-333-26, if an advisory council member has three consecutive unexcused absences or does not attend fifty percent of meetings duly noticed and held within a twelve month period, then the member will be deemed to have resigned from the council.
Currently, as shown in the member list, there are several regional advisory councils that have not sent a member to the SVAC as required by State Statute 16-331i. If your area does not have an SVAC member and you are interested in joining the SVAC, please contact your regional cable tv advisory council with your request.
